It is reputed to be the most common vowel sound. I never counted. Comes from German via Hebrew. And surprisingly the names for that sound were worse before SCHWA was adopted. America starts with uh and ends with kuh.<br /><br />Penny dropping is something I have often heard or read but never said. If you listen and look you will probably find. Obviously an older expression, because the price is unchanged by inflation.<br /><br />You can make a decent didgeridoo from a 5 foot length of pcv pipe, 2-3 inches in diameter.
