Was very surprised at all the complaints, "explanations" of why it was wrong etc.<br />In my mind flash as an adjective meaning ostentatious was very current. Since I'm totally in the dark about all the recent rock groups,e tc that most seem to know, or at least don't complain about, couldn't believe the complaints.<br />After googling some definitions, I began to think I was familiar with the meaning from having British in-laws and friends. <br />But the Urban Dictionary lists the definition used in the puzzle.<br /><br />"Cell for sentence structure took me a while, even tho the "prison" or "jail" idea was teasing my brain. Liked the clue. I have a friend who always, almost ad nauseam, quotes that line about messing about in boats. He's British too, so it fits. The thing about the FOCSLE is that it is the best place to be if you are getting a little queasy being on the briny.<br /><br />I know that many people, including the Spacester, dislike so-called ampersandwiches, but that is how one says them. Worth a Google.<br /><br />@Teedmn - always thought cars should have a "courtesy" horn - some non-threatening sound that says "I'm here" or "the light changed." Not having cable nor DISH, AMC to me is still the maker of that Hornet I drove for a while in the 80s. I slowed down in the middle and the South, but I was able to complete it without too much difficulty.
