A couple of years ago, I sent something to Will for consideration in the Times. (It wasn't a crossword; I can't construct those; it was a different sort of puzzle.) The rejection letter came from Paula Gamache, who explained that Will often turns over puzzle submissions to her for consideration. She made it clear that Will had not even looked at it.
