I think he's pretty happy being a Prof. What he wants is for Will and gang to start accepting crosswords that don't feel a hundred years old; don't smell like Maleska and have some pizzazz in them. If you do, say, the WSJ ( just one example) you'll see how clever and up-to-date they are. So many good crossword designers have flown the coop. Time to get with the Times. @Rex has no compunction in pointing that out.
